Built in plantation style, the hotel appears modest from the driveway: low-rise, creamy stucco with a green-tile roof. The vast lobby creates a different impression: marble, gently falling water, tapestries, antiqued chairs, sofas so deep they seem to swallow guests. A terrace off the lobby showcases ocean views, as breaking rollers sweep into beautiful Hanalei Bay past the rock spire called Bali Hai. The beautiful beach provides calm water for swimming and snorkeling except under the most dramatic offshore surf conditions. A huge pool with an ocean view and a swim-up bar are surrounded by a spacious sundeck and a garden of small palm trees. One level up from the pool are a toddlers' pool and three enormous half-moon-shaped spas.

Poipu Bay Golf Club

Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course was the home of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994 – 2006. The course has won numerous awards and is consistently rated among the top golf courses in Hawaii and the U.S. This outstanding course is backed by lush emerald mountains and sculpted from a rolling plateau eight stories above the Pacific Ocean. Nestled among the gentle contours of Poipu Bay you’ll discover the remains of Hawaiian heiau (places of worship) and ancient stone walls. You also may even see rare Hawaiian Monk Seals, native Nene Geese, Green Sea Turtles or Humpback Whales. Whichever it may be you’ll have plenty of good excuses to back your scorecard, as sometimes even the most focused golfer can be challenged by the breathtaking views this course has to offer. This links style layout designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. can play over 7000 yards long. The ocean comes into play on holes 15-17, a beautiful venue for golfers of all abilities. A unique and unforgettable golf experience awaits you at beautiful Poipu Bay Resort.

Championship Tees Course Rateing: 18 Holes; Par 72, 6,959 Yards, Rated 73.4, Slope Rated 132

Princeville Makai Course

The Makai Golf Course in Princeville re-opened in January 2010 after a multi-million dollar renovation that reconfigured two 9 hole courses into one beautiful 18 hole course. Improvements include newly reshaped bunkers, two large practice tees and a expanded practice putting green, not to mention all of tee boxes replaced with Seashore Paspalum, a drought resistant grass that is so smooth it feels as if you're putting on carpet. One of the 7223 yard par 72 Makai Course’s signature holes include the challenging Par 3 third, where the tee is about 100 feet above a protected green. Other recognized holes include 7, 13 and 18, where there is an abundance of scenic views of towering mountains, Bali Hai and world-famous Hanalei Bay. Just looking down at the breaking surf below the cliffs will be sure to provide you with an experience you’ll never forget. Additional non golf course related features of Makai is a newly built, award-winning golf shop which possesses clubs, clothing items and more. The clubhouse also has a large lanai area where the Makai Grill is located, a perfect spot to relax after an enjoyable day of golf.

Championship Tees Course Rateing: 18 Holes; Par 72, 6,886 Yards, Rated 72.7, Slope Rated 133

Hokuala (Formerly known as Kauai Lagoons) is a lush, 750-acre resort carefully secluded in the southwest corner of the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Fairways weave through mango and guava tree forests along imposing ocean cliffs and over promontories high above the harbor. It is said that when legendary golfer and architect Jack Nicklaus created the original Kiele Course in the late 1980's, the terrain lent itself so well to his vision that he made but a single change to his original design. In 2011, Jack Nicklaus was again called upon, this time to redesign the back nine of his famed Kiele course. Included are all new greens, new white silica sand bunkers and three new holes. Arguably the best new feature is an additional ocean hole that is now the centerpiece of what is the longest stretch of continuous ocean holes of any course in Hawaii, now making four fabulous holes which provide over 1/2 mile of unobstructed oceanfront.

Championship Tees Course Rateing: 18 Holes; Par 72, 7,070 Yards, Rated 73.7, Slope Rated 137

Kiahuna Golf Club

Kiahuna Golf Club is located in sunny Poipu Beach and surrounded by the lush, natural beauty of Kauai. Architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. skillfully included many ancient remnants of an authentic Hawaiian Village into his vision when designing the course. Kiahuna Golf Club offers challenging resort golf within a fascinating area of ancient Polynesian archaeology, as it is structured around the remains of authentic Hawaiian culture. This challenging course has narrow fairways and you will encounter unusual obstacles such as lava walls and stone structures. The Kiahuna Golf Club is a sanctuary for many of Kauai’s endangered species including the state bird of Hawaii, the Nene. The Black-Crowned Night Heron can be seen fishing along the clubs numerous water hazards. Golfers may also spot the rare Hawaiian Stilt and the very shy Moorhen along Waikomo Stream.

Championship Tees Course Rateing: 18 Holes; Par 72, 6,353 Yards, Rated 70.6, Slope Rated 128

Puakea Golf Course

Puakea, designed by golf course Architect Robin Nelson cleverly uses the local natural beauty as his landcape, setting his course at the base of the towering Mount Haupu. Puakea treats golfers to the stunning island beauty that is Kauai, playing through deep ravines, crossing mountain fed streams and revealing views of the Pacific Ocean. Robin Nelson had this to say upon completion of his golf course, "Puakea may be the most fun course to play in Hawaii. The course rides up, down and around deep ravines. It has beautiful, pali views on about three-quarters of the course and ocean views for the rest. Each of the holes are distinctly different so you're constantly facing new, interesting challenges." Puakea is 7000 yards of exhilarating golf, using beautiful island flora and fauna, giving a sense that it is in complete harmony with nature. The masterfully designed course clearly conveys the routes golfers should take for textbook pars. However, the more daring golfer will be tempted to achieve glorious birdies for a truly rewarding round of golf.

Championship Tees Course Rateing: 18 Holes; Par 72, 6,954 yards, Rated 73.5, Slope Rated 135
