Big Island Golf Courses

You may choose to play any of the courses listed as part of you package. Courses you select will determine the final cost for your package.

Mauna Kea Golf Club

The multi-award winning Golf Course at Mauna Kea has since 1964, led the way in standards of course beauty and design, solidifying its place in Hawaii's history as one of the most scenic and favored golf courses.

Created by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the 18-hole championship course presents dramatic changes in elevation, large undulating greens, and 120 well-placed bunkers.

Without changing the essential character of his father's design, Rees Jones Inc. re-planted the championship Course with highly efficient ultra-dwarf Tifeagle Bermudagrass on the greens and Tifway 419 hybrid Bermudagrass on the tees, fairways and roughs. State-of-the-art irrigation systems, liners in the bunkers, and advance drainage improvements keep the golf course in top shape and save on environmental resources.

Including world-class practice facilities, that features a driving range and putting green to elevate your game while enjoying epic views of the Kohala Coast's rolling waves. Golfers can also gather together at the new Number 3 Restaurant after golf to relax in a casual atmosphere, along with pupus and a cold one from the tap, or a signature Mauna Kea cocktail to toast a great round of golf.

With incredible panoramic views of sea and land, featuring snow-capped Mauna Kea, rugged lava beds, and the sparkling blue Pacific. The spectacular signature hole is the famous Third Hole - where surging inlet water races to meet the rocky shoreline, affording one of the most dramatic and breathtaking views in golf today.

Championship Tees: 18 Holes, Par 72, 7,370 Yards, Rated 77., Slope Rated 136

Mauna Lani South Course

Mauna Lani’s South Course is home to Hole #15, one of the most photographed over-the-water golf course holes in the world. Renowned as the former home to the annual Senior Skins Game from 1990 - 2000, the course snakes through the stark, rugged a'a lava of the prehistoric Kaniku lava flow. The challenging South Course offers the golfer a panorama of mountain and ocean views.

Fairways composed of Bermuda grass are lined by the natural rough along with pahoehoe and a'a lava rock. Lava rock must definitely be avoided as if you are lucky enough to have your ball bounce back to the fairway your ball will be damaged.

Signature holes on the South Course that play beside the ocean are the famous Hole #15 and Hole #7, another par 3, borders the ocean and during the winter months golfers can enjoy watching humpback whales migrating offshore. Most of the greens are flat, but hard to determine the speed as there are many subtle breaks as you roll your ball to the flag.

Championship Tees: Par 72, 6,938 Yards, Rated 72.8, Slope Rated 133

Mauna Lani North Course

Mauna Lani's North Course has fast become one of the most popular tournament venues on the Island. Rated as one of the best golf experiences on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Built on a lava bed, the North is characterized by rolling terrain punctuated by Kiawe forests.  Number 17, is the North's signature hole, par 3, measuring 140 yards, and requires a tee shot from an elevated tee to a green that is framed by a natural lava amphitheatre, and a favorite "I was here" photo spot.

A 230-acre protected archaeological district lies on the northern boundary of the golf course. Herds of feral goats frequent the entire golf course, moving from hole to hole throughout the day.

There are as many as five different tee positions on most of the holes to give golfers a wide range of options in meeting the challenging conditions. With the Groves of twisted kiawe trees along the fairway edges and a more pronounced topography make the holes seem quite a contrast from the south 18. Water hazards come into play, and several holes are contiguous with the ocean.

Championship Tees: 18 Holes, Par 72, 6,913 Yards, Rated 73.2, Slope Rated 136

Waikoloa Beach Course

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Beach Course at Waikoloa winds its way along historic lava flows near Anaehoomalu Bay. The Beach course truly has it all, a great mix of challenging holes with birdie opportunities, spectacular scenery and a layout strategic enough to challenge the pro’s while gentle enough to allow even the casual player an enjoyable day on the course.

From the fairway the player is treated to the most stunning views of any course in the world. The green fairways sit on a lava peninsula surrounded by swaying coconut palms. With beautiful visuals as a carpet of emerald green, contrasting against the stunning blues of the Pacific Ocean crashing on the black lava sending spray cascading in the air.

The seventh is one of the most photographed holes in the entire Hawaiian Islands and a classic risk reward hole in every sense of the word. Hole # 17 is a wonderful par three over water surrounded by an amphitheater of black lava. Don’t forget your camera when playing this stunning course.

Championship Tees: 18 Holes, Par 72, 6,577 Yards, Rated 71.6, Slope Rated 134

Waikoloa Kings Course

The Kings’ course is truly a player’s course. It’s got the length, the strategic punishment or rewards and the ever-present trade winds to protect par. Yet, it can challenge the good player to the max while still being eminently enjoyable for the occasional player from several different sets of tees.

Designed by the team of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish the 7,074 yard Kings’ course meanders over and around the ancient black lava flow and its wide, undulating fairways are framed by palm trees and vibrant flowers of Hawaii. The beautiful Kings' Course plays inland towards the ancient mountain of Mauna Kea, ever present in the distance.

From the 5th hole green, perched up a few feet above the fairway you get a magnificent view of the surrounding lava fields, which stretch as far as the eye can see. This is camera time no matter what your score. Majestic fairways interspersed throughout ancient lava fields – it’s been likened to playing golf on the moon!

Championship Tees: 18 Holes, Par 72, 7,074 Yards, Rated 73.4, Slope Rated 135

Hapuna Golf Course

Hapuna Golf Course offers spectacular views of the Kohala Coast and the Pacific Ocean while majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kohala Mountains form the backdrop. With its seemingly endless views and dramatic elevation changes beginning at sea level and rising to 700 feet, Hapuna Golf Course nestles into the rugged desert terrain above the west shore of Hawaii's Big Island.

This Arnold Palmer / Ed Seay course is a championship "links-style" design that was built in 1992 and stretches to just under 6,900 yards. The Pacific Ocean serves as the picture perfect backdrop and can be seen from every hole. Teeing off at just under 700 feet of elevation, the signature par 4, 12th hole provides one of the most spectacular panoramic views on the Big Island - including Maui in the distance.

Hapuna Golf Course has gained a reputation as a hidden gem and for that reason is always a local favorite. Hapuna's challenging play and environmental sensitivity make it one of Hawaii's most unique golf courses.

Championship Tees: 18 Holes, Par 72, 6,875 Yards, Rated 73.3, Slope Rated 136

Waikoloa Village Course

The second oldest course on the Big Island and a local favorite, Waikoloa Village Golf Club is situated in an arid location, nestled in the foothills of Mauna Kea overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which virtually assures good playing conditions 365 days per year.

This Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed course features generous fairways with wide, forgiving landing areas which encourage aggressive tee shots and the large and well well-bunkered, undulating greens provide a test for any level of golfer. Located at approximately 1,000 feet of elevation, golfers are treated to views of five volcanoes - Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, Hualalai, and Haleakala on Maui and the Kohala coastline.

The course is challenging enough for the serious golfer, but fun for beginners as well. The 6,791-yard par-72 course has all of the feel of a Jones design, with additional challenges unique to this island landscape.
