Royal Hawaii Golf Club

Royal Hawaiian Golf Course

Formerly known as Luana Hills, Royal Hawaiian is located on the east side of Oahu at the base of the Ko’olau Mountain Range with colossal Mt. Olomana its background. The course is carved through a tropical rain forest and is known for its breathtaking views throughout.

Royal Hawaiian Golf Course can best be described as playing golf in Jurassic Park without the dinosaurs! The astounding scenery begins right away with a 1.5 mile drive through a magnificent rain forest to get to the clubhouse. When you finally arrive there is no doubt that you will be amazed that a golf course could be built in such paradise.

The Pete and Perry Dye designed layout has contrasting nines, with a front side that features rugged mountainous terrain and a open rolling terrain back nine. With a slope of 138 from the back tees and a distance of about 6600 yards, this demanding track is certainly an interesting mix of beauty and challenge. Royal Hawaiian should definitely be on everyone’s bucket list!

Ko Olina Resort Course

Ko Olina Golf Course

Ko Olina has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the “Top 75 Resort Courses in the USA”. The course includes 16 water features on 8 different holes, multi-tiered greens and well-manicured fairways. Ko Olina will challenge golfers to use every club in the bag with its demanding par-3’s, well bunkered greens and gentle trade winds.

Located on the west coast of the island inside the Ko Olina Resort, the Ted Robinson designed course is one of the only resort courses located on Oahu. The par-72 layout features generous landing areas, cascading waterfalls and a picturesque ocean location. From the back tees Ko Olina measures 6867 yards and is always superbly maintained. Ko Olina is also home to the LPGA LOTTE Championship.

Turtle Bay Palmer Course

Turtle Bay Palmer Course

Located on Oahu’s scenic North Shore, perhaps better known for surfing than golfing, the prominent Turtle Bay Palmer Golf Course has hosted Champions Tour and LPGA events as well as the Golf Channel’s Big Break.

The Palmer Course at Turtle Bay is an 18-hole Championship Golf Course designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. The course features two distinctly different experiences. The front nine is nearly devoid of trees and shrubs but rather features sand, water and rolling terrain. The back nine though plays through a forest of ironwood pines and offers a very different feel. The 17th hole marks the eminent signature hole with a total of nine craggy bunkers surrounding the landing area and extending all the way up to the green, which sits on a plateau only 100 feet from the ocean.

The Palmer Course is the more challenging of the two courses at Turtle Bay and plays to a yardage of just over 7200 yards from the back tees with a slope of 141.

Waikele Country Club

Waikele Golf Course

Waikele Country Club is only 30 minutes west of Waikiki. The beautiful par 72 Ted Robinson designed course is an impeccably manicured track that provides challenges and enjoyment to players of all skill levels.

The course boasts spectacular views of Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, and the Ko’olau and Waianae mountains. Waikele features rolling fairways, undulating Tiff Eagle greens, strategically placed bunkers, and a generous compliment of water features.

A truly comprehensive country club, Waikele Country Club features a golf shop with the finest names in equipment and apparel, locker rooms, a restaurant, and a full-service driving range, and putting areas.

Hawaii Prince Golf Club

Hawaii Prince Course

Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, this unique course is the only one in Hawaii to feature 27 holes. It occupies 270 acres of sheer beauty and offers stunning views of the rain-carved Waianae Mountains.

Hawaii Prince is located about 35 minutes from Waikiki on the Ewa Plains. Each of the 9’s are designated “A”, “B” and “C”, and the abundant number of water features is the dominant characteristic of this track. Within the property of the golf course there are 10 lakes which come in to play in over half of the holes.

In addition to its 27 holes the Hawaii Prince Golf Club sports an excellent practice facility and features a full service clubhouse with a terrific restaurant. Hawaii Tee Times also offers 2 round trip transportation package specials daily to the course.

Royal Kunia Golf Club

Located 30 minutes from Waikiki high above the Ewa plains, Robin Nelson designed Royal Kunia boasts panoramic views of the entire south shore of Oahu including Pearl Harbor, the city of Honolulu, Diamond Head, and the Ko’olau and Waianae mountain ranges.

This par-72 track features generously sized rolling Bermuda fairways, heavily bunkered greens, and a compliment of lakes of palms.Royal Kunia has arguably some of the best par 5’s on the island, especially the back to back 9th and 10th holes, that both measure over 600 yards in length from the championship tees. If you are looking for a course that provides great views, has exceptional conditions and a course that is a test for all levels of golfers, this the course for you.

Kapolei Golf Course

Kapolei Golf Course

Located west of Pearl Harbor, in Sunny Kapolei, Oahu’s second city, the par-72 championship layout is beautifully landscaped with floral gardens, thousands of coconut palms and five expansive lakes. Architect Ted Robinson, who is known for his creative use of water, moved massive amounts of dirt to create the lakes and to provide elevation and contouring for the course. The beautiful lakes come into play on 12 holes and in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, serve an important environmental function, catching storm run-off from the surrounding terrain.

Kapolei measures 7,001 yards from the back tees but with multiple tee positions the course can be enjoyed by all levels of golfers. Having been rated as one of the best courses on Oahu by both Golf Digest Magazine and the Zagat Survey, this par-72 Ted Robinson design also played host to the LPGA’s Hawaiian Ladies Open Tournament between 1996-2001 and for the last few years the Champions Tour Pacific Links Open.

Coral Creek Golf Course

Located in Ewa Beach (west of Waikiki), Coral Creek Golf Course provides a challenging test for golfers of all skill levels. The Robin Nelson designed par-72 course weaves its way through exposed natural coral rock formations, resulting in a truly unique golfing experience. The course also offers several water features including a 30 ft. waterfall. It measures just over 6800 yards from the back tees and boasts beautifully manicured Seashore Paspalum Turf.

Nestled along the Ewa Plain, Coral Creek Golf Course offers one of the most unique and beautiful pieces of land in Oahu. You will be catered to from the moment you enter the property.

Pearl Country Club

Pearl Country Club

With it’s stunning views of Pearl Harbor, you’re able to see both the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri from various locations on this course. In addition to the Pearl Harbor Memorial the Waianae Mountain Range can also be viewed towards the west, making Pearl Country Club a long time favorite among residents and visitors alike. The par-72 Akira Sato designed course is only about a 20 minute drive from Waikiki and is always in great condition.

Pearl Country Club features rugged, rolling terrain and is lined with Northfolk Pine, Coconut Palms and flowering Monkeypod Trees. There are relatively few water hazards or fairway bunkers, however, trees, terrain, and fast greens contribute to this fun and challenging test. A local tip that will be sure to save you several strokes is that all putts will break towards the Pearl Harbor Memorial.
